St. Paul, MN — Gentry Academy is proud to announce the hiring of Katelyn Shanahan as the new Head Coach of the Girls Lacrosse program. Gentry is thrilled to welcome Katelyn to the Stars family and looks forward to the continued growth and success of the girls lacrosse program under her leadership.
Katelyn brings over five years of experience coaching youth lacrosse, with a strong emphasis on skill development, confidence-building, and fostering a team-first mindset. She has coached athletes across multiple age levels, helping both new and experienced players develop the technical and mental tools needed to succeed on the field.
Beyond lacrosse, Katelyn has a strong background in inclusive athletics through her work with Special Olympics, coaching and supporting athletes across multiple sports including swimming, track and field, basketball, flag football, and soccer.
Shanahan is a graduate of the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences, with a minor in Developmental Psychology and a certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorder. She also holds a MSHSL Head Coaches Certificate, USA Lacrosse Platinum Certification and NFHS Concussion in Sports certification.
